CRISPR-Cas9 in action (크리스퍼 유전자 가위 이용한 유전자 교정)

The video is a simplified representation of the gene-editing tool, CRISPR-Cas9 in action. The “gene scissors” Cas9 (green, programmable nucleases) are designed to create cuts on the target DNA (blue) in a precise location indicated by the guide RNA (purple).

In the study published in Nature (Ma H. et al, 2017, ), the target of the CRISPR system is a mutation causing hypertrophic cardiomyopathy characterized by the lack of some nucleotides in the MYBPC3 gene of the sperm DNA. The mutation is then corrected by the cell by adding the missing nucleotides.
