This is something else Ford has filed a patent for a self driving police car that will communicate with your self driving vehicle to issue tickets. This new vehicle will be connected to the IOT in order to detect or be informed of violations. This Self driving cruiser will then track down the perpetrator to issue a ticket. The car would most likely be built on an autonomous interceptor platform. This self driving interceptor would also rely on machine learning through an advanced neural network to find places to hide while waiting for speeders. This car will be capable of setting up robotic speed traps.
This driverless police car can also be used to tail suspects or work in tandem with human officers. So I wonder if this driverless cop car can be hurt in the line of duty? Can a driverless cruiser get a promotion. HAHAHA I would love to see a driverless interceptor getting a medal. But there you have it, there is no date for an autonomous ford cop car but I am sure it wont be too long before we see it out there. this is just another step in ford autonomous vehicle development. with their plan to have a ford self driving car 2021 this fits right in. I know it is weird but this is in line for autonomous cars 2018. But to think that self driving cars 2018 could be a big year. But it is weird to think about driverless police cars.
